Welcome to our Web site!
We
are both east coast transplants.
I
initially moved here from New York in July of 1993 and Trish from
West Virginia in January 2000.
I came out on vacation in the May of 1993 and fell in love with the
place and decided this is where I wanted to live while Trish moved here
because of a job opportunity.
We
met via the Internet (Match.com) in July of 2001.
When I first contacted her she told me she was in the middle of moving to a
new apartment in the same complex and was also about to leave to Florida for
work as well.
I insisted on meeting her so I volunteered to help her move but she
declined, but she did agree to meet me.
Our first encounter was at Monarch Beach in Dana Point, CA where we had a
picnic that was interrupted halfway through by an army of ants.
It was quite clear we
had hit it off.
She left for Florida a few days later and we spoke everyday.
On July 29th, my birthday, she sent me a box of cheesecakes for my birthday.
I thought was very sweet of her considering we only knew each other for a
short time.
Even though she was 3000 miles away our relationship was getting stronger
daily.
May of 2002, I flew to Florida to see her for the weekend. I bought
her a promise ring and told her I would ask her to marry me one day…this was
at a gas station somewhere between Orlando and Clearwater Beach. My plan was
to wait until we arrived at Clearwater Beach and do it over lunch but the
ring was burning a hole in my pocket.
July of 2002 she flew back from Florida for the weekend so we could
move into our new apartment. At the end of the day after we were finished
moving, I took her to Newport Beach with my video camera to watch the sun
set and proposed to her…In the middle of my proposal I was interrupted by a
couple who wanted me to take their picture so I had to stop my speech and
pause my recording so I could accommodate them. If only they knew what I was
in the middle ofJ.
August 2002
Trish decided to move back from Florida so she drove. I flew to Austin Texas
to meet her so we could drive the rest of the way together.
Thanksgiving 2002 we flew back to the east coast to meet each other’s
family for the first time, hers in West Virginia and mine on Long Island.
Spring 2003
we had to fly back to West Virginia because Trish’s mom unfortunately passed
away. I was happy I had the opportunity to meet her. She is greatly missed.
September 20, 2003 we were married onboard an electric riverboat, the
Angela Louise, in Newport Beach with a few family members and some of our
closest friends.
April 2006
we finally bought our first home, a condo in Lake Forest.
June 2006
we adopted 2 kittens from a shelter in Long Beach….Tipper and Marley.
January 2007 -
we learned we are pregnant. So
far, we've seen and heard the heartbeat and watched an active little person
on ultrasound. We are excited beyond words and will continue to update
everyone.
Over the past few
years we have made numerous trips back to see our families and have visited
places like Mexico, Las Vegas, San Francisco, Washington DC, New York City,
Jackson Hole, Montauk Point and other small places in between.
We have also been blessed with some great friends who have been there for us
and we would like to thank them.
Trish and I are very strong believers in power of family and friendship so
we would like to let you know we will always be there and we love you all.
Hopefully we will have
a family of our own soon.
To date our journey still continues…
